Historical tour of Landsmeer
This historic tour around Landsmeer takes you to unique locations of historical, cultural and natural interest. Along the route you will find various information boards with extensive background information about this area. Along the way you can enjoy all kinds of special places that are worth admiring. For example, take a look at the Twiskemolen windmill, the Paterspoel and Suzannasluis lock or visit the Grote Huis national monument in the middle of Landsmeer and experience the Ilperveld. You will learn more about the history of this region by visiting these places.
Ilperveld cycling and boating excursion
Cycling and boating through Ilperveld nature reserve in Landsmeer from May to October. Go on board with your bicycle and navigate through this fantastic quiet peatland nature reserve of Landschap Noord-Holland, with no fewer than 600 islands. This area is home to the black-tailed godwit, common tern, sundew and real cuckoo flowers and the sound of the bittern can be heard regularly. An oasis less than 7 km away from Amsterdam Central.
